The life and times (and struggles) of an ex-Jack Sparrow working in Disneyland. I tip my hat to the cast members at Disney. I know for a fact they work their tails off under extremely strict rules. ›

The work of Peter Swkiot Smith is haunting and beautiful. I'll admit to wishing I could emulate this kind of style. Completely fascinated by it. ›
The portfolio of Japanese illustrator, Atsushi Hara, reminds me of my childhood books. There is a warmth and charm to his work I admire. [grain] ›

Inspirability
by PASH, Matt Pashkow
Given to me most graciously by my friend Heather, my nose has been buried in this book for a couple weeks now. Take 40 well-known designers, sit them down, and interview them about inspiration. Sounds simple. The answers are fantastic. I love learning how other designers find their inspiration. Great book for quick glances or long reads.

Where did that $4.2 billion go? "People didn't stop buying albums because they were philosophically opposed to how the rock business operated, and they didn't stop buying albums because the Internet is changing the relationship between capitalism and art. People stopped buying albums because they wanted the fucking money. It's complicated, but it's not." (04/22)

I consider myself an environmentally-conscious designer. I try my best to live my life, both and out of the office, in a way that doesn't have such a negative impact on the Earth. Part of this is simply investing my savings wisely. It's easy to invest in a couple oil companies. I mean, it's just investing, right? Well I've decided to start investing in green mutual funds (funds containing green companies and alternative energies). It's another possible step to do a small part, and chances are these companies will explode as their presence become increasingly needed. (04/07)
FAA, Southwest Airlines, broken plans, and corruption. And the bar slips a little lower. (04/07)
