Never thought I'd say this but... amazing photography for these Pepsi ads. Whew. (11/30)

Anne Kiel Jewelry. Shopping around for Red, I found these beautiful pieces. (11/30)

Premium Cola. "Premium-Cola is not a company, since profit is not a goal of the collective. There is no office, no salaries and no actual boss. All members of the collective make a living by other jobs and build up Premium-Cola as sort of a hobby. All issues are decided on collectively, there is hardly any advertising - instead, art pictures are printed on the inside of the bottles' labels." Okay where do I sign up?! (11/30)

Brighter Planet Visa card. Earn points towards carbon offsets. Not a bad idea. (11/30)

Political learning time: Salon's interview with Ron Paul. I agree with some of the things said, however he's not my first choice at the moment. (11/29)

Indy, complete with whip and gun. To everyone out there proclaiming Ford's looking "old": well no shit, Sherlock. The man's 64 years old. How else is he supposed to look? This ain't the 80's anymore. Just feel blessed he's gracing us with Indy's presence one more time. (11/28)

The 7 rules of unobtrusive javascript. (11/27)

Strange Thanksgiving moment: Red and I were spending the day in Walt Disney World, taking the Monorail to Magic Kingdom. I look out the window, and I see a flock of... something. "What the hell are those?!" She blinks a couple times staring out the window and exclaims, "Those are God damn turkeys." I couldn't have put it any more eloquently. Yup, somebody in Disney decided to release a flock of roughly half a dozen turkeys to wander the backwoods of Disney. I'll never forget it. Hell, I might have had one of them for dinner that night. (11/21)

Top Ten High-end Whiskies. Because it's Thanksgiving, and men enjoy a good scotch. Then again, we're also idiots. (11/21)

Flight thru instruction manual. Some beautiful illustrations from yesteryear. (11/20)

Hot For Teacher

I've been thinking a lot about education in the field of graphic design. Having been out of school for three years (holy cow) my perspective has changed. Is it truly necessary to attend college to pursue graphic design? The Signals people don't think so. I mean, isn't design a lifestyle? Do we really need to slave through 2-4 years of student loans, text books, macaroni and cheese dinners, high blood pressure, sour professors, and meaningless grades? Don't get me wrong: I have very few regrets about the path I chose in college. It was necessary, yet maybe not for every designer.

Snowboarder vs. jet. Any questions? (11/20)

Fat David. What is the Greek equivalent to twinkies?! (11/20)

Ultreo, the ultrasound toothbrush. Yes, I just said that. (11/20)

RubyTuesday's gets rebranded. Okay, I love all things Pentagram, but this treatment (while beautiful) does very little for me. Does it for you? Either way I still never eat there. (11/14)

Microsoft just bought Veer. This actually does not scare me. It doesn't even surprise me. I don't like it, but not because it's big bad "M". Because Veer working independently stood for something in my eyes. I'd like to think Corbis will stay out of Veer's business, but how likely is that? We'll see. (11/14)

Give One. Get One. Take a moment and read on. (11/14)

Being an avid supporter of web standards, and usually against the overly-gracious use of Flash for the sake of using Flash, I've got to gnash my teeth and say with a whimper, "Diesel's new site is gorgeous." Slow loading time, but my God the floating models are amazing. (11/14)

Historic archive of Dutch graphic designers. Beautiful work. [unlined] (11/14)

Monsters!!! Run!!!

Things ground to a halt the last month due to a death in the family. To all passing along their best wishes, I truly do appreciate it. All is well again. Life moves on. I was hoping to discuss this before Halloween, but I'll consider my timing fashionably late. Hey, if the Simpsons can air their Treehouse of Terror episode after Halloween, I'm allowed.

I fixed the comments. Yet another slight hiccup in the process of upgrading MT3 to 4. Unfortunately this whole process has been slightly more painful than expected. But I place only blame on myself for not fixing it sooner. Apologies! (11/13)

What Would Jesus Buy? A Nintendo Wii for His apostles' down time, me thinks. (11/12)

An (obviously) old Iraqi banknote. Saddam seems to happy. (11/07)

I know some people that swear by Olive Garden's superb food. I'm not one of them. They're okay, not great. But at least we can now all agree, their food is fattening as hell. (11/07)

The ghosts are here, at least in Thailand. Worth watching just for the weird factor alone. (11/07)

Eurostar's move, Flickr set. [noisy] (11/05)

The space required to transport x amount of people by car, bus, or bicycle. We have a serious challenge facing us in our use of space. It shows how selfish we really are when it comes to how we travel about this Earth. (11/02)

Plastic surgery started as far back as WWI, though we don't usually remember those wounded. (11/02)
