Poke does some beautiful web work. (10/31)

Why are input buttons now flat in Leopard/Safari 3? Background, baby. [simplebits] (10/31)

LOL! (10/30)

Two things I love in this world, Mr. Bean and Apple commercials, have joined forces. Thank you God. (Note: to clarify, I loved Mr. Bean during his original series... the movies have sucked the character dry unfortunately) (10/30)

Ferrari FXX Evoluzione. Not street legal you say? Well no shit, Sherlock. (10/30)

Turn your iPhone into black old school Apple. I'd love to do this if I owned one, but that's a lot of work. (10/30)

The Unofficial Michael Scott Dunder-Mifflin commercial. It all starts with an idea... [do] (10/29)

Catalog Choice. Great idea, but I'm not sold quite yet. Apparently a tool for unsubscribing from certain catalogs. Having been around hoops trying to cancel catalog subscriptions, I really really hope this does what it says. (10/29)

Olle Lundberg's cabin. I could live there. (10/26)

Excellent tutorial on setting up a Gmail IMAP account in Apple Mail or iPhone. I had originally set up a POP account in Apple Mail to handle all my Gmail drafts. The major problem with this is, while you can retrieve all incoming mail from your Gmail account, deleting and archiving in Apple Mail would have zero affect in your Gmail account. Via IMAP, every change made in Apple Mail is mirrored in Gmail. Practically. I'm still solving the folders-to-labels puzzle. (10/26)

Vanilla Bicycles. They look so nice I'd be afraid to ride one. (10/26)

My favorite identities in the last five years or so, The Bank of New York, has gone the way of the highway. In its place? Well, something with less appeal, unfortunately. Nothing against it, but damnit the last brand was beautiful. (10/26)

A review of the iPod speaker system, Vers 2x. I'm usually not terribly impressed by iPod-specific speakers. They seem a waste of time and rather ineffective. However, I'd have to say I've fallen in love with this one. I'm a sucker for wood grain. Aren't you?! (10/26)

Embarrassing posters. But what is "bad" anyway? (10/26)

My next time-waster: This Ain't No Disco. Photos of design firm interiors. Where is 50k?! (10/26)

Don't be the fifth guy. (10/26)

My new favorite design blog by Eric Skillman of Criterion fame. If I could own every single DVD released by them I would. By far my favorite design consistently pumped out these days. (10/25)

A collection of Bill Watterson comic strips, pre-Calvin & Hobbes. I love his "Fear and Loathing" cover! (10/25)

Mac OSX browser list. A couple I wasn't aware of, including iCab (huh?!) and Lynx. (10/25)

Great tutorial on freeing up RAM in Photoshop. Faster is always better. (10/25)

Dehydrated water. Um. Hmm. Okay. (10/24)

Car options not worth the moolah. No, Mr. Salesman, I don't need my seat automatically cooled. Leave me alone. (10/24)

Another intense Nike site. [line] (10/18)

Answer Me This

Back in April of 2007, A List Apart conducted their annual Web Design Survey. Were you a part of it? I took the time to fill out the survey. Who doesn't love surveys? The results are finally in. Kudos to the rock kids at Happy Cog for supplying this lovely document, rich with content and information. And thanks to Jason for busting out the design all over.

Angry red text. Scary image. Useful CSS method to show editors errors in their code (stop tweaking my code, damnit) (10/18)

Autopopulate text input fields using javascript. (10/18)

Carts #1. (10/18)

Porn spammers get 5 years in the slammer. Today is a good day. (10/18)

The futile journey of one man trying to get off Verizon's mailing list. Resistance is mindless, bitches. We own you. and your little dog. (10/16)

It seems Apple is on the hot seat over the chemicals used in iPhones. This is really a shame to hear. I love Apple, like any devoted designer would, but I think good design starts with responsible design. My cell phone contract is up in November. I was on the fence about getting an iPhone, but in all honesty I'd rather boycott for a fix rather than jumping in. What would you do? (10/16)

The Green Office. Guilt-free office supplies. (10/16)

Items you never thought to recycle. Great list, and I'm sure quite difficult to create. (10/15)

Wonderful set of links of people using assistive technology. It's easy to shout to the heavens about accessibility. Seeing the fundamental need for it is another. (10/15)

Lucky No.7 (10/15)

Spiders on Drugs. (10/15)

Worst interview ever? By NPR no less. Kudos for embracing it (blogging it). Still, that's pretty rough. (10/12)

Al Gore wins Nobel Peace Prize. Also, deemed unfit to handle Presidency. Too decent a guy. (10/12)

22nd Amendment. Thank God for it. (10/12)

Adopt an olive tree. Reap the benefits. Cool. (10/12)

Diagnosing styling. Thanks Eric! (10/12)

Ever have the daunting fear that, once your perfectly-polished web site is in the client's hands, they'll royally fuck it up? Me too. (10/12)

Kate Blackwell. Stunning work. Love the posters. (10/11)

Sattelloons! (10/11)

Janice Caswell. Works on paper, on a wall. (10/11)

Labour and Wait. I want one of every product for the kitchen. (10/11)

Camp Nou Stadium. Wow. The colors change throughout a match. Can you imagine what it's like to look at from the outside? Or in for that matter. (10/11)

Threadless take on a Terrentino classic. (10/11)

War of the Worlds, a book cover collection. (10/10)

Is Google Desktop a reality? It can be. Haven't quite jumped all over this bandwagon yet. I still use iCal. Ack. (10/10)

Arcade Fire presents the Neon Bible. (10/09)

Too Many Fonts

Fonts. We love 'em. We want more of 'em, drill sergeant. Currently, I have roughly over 6,000 different fonts (taking into account bolds, italics, etc.) in my collection. How many have I used? Roughly, about fifty. And I'm rounding up.

Submarine cable map. Nice. (10/09)

Bags made from recycled tires. Cooler than ya think. (10/09)

Square Colloseum. (10/09)

LivingHomes, bookmarked for my future home aspirations. (10/09)

The opening credits for Lord of War, or the life of a bullet. I completely missed this film. Sobering, to say the least. (10/08)

Webkit now supports "font-face". Web designers rejoice. (10/08)

The next Image Replacement technique. And why do I report on it? Because it uses no additional markup, works in all browsers (including IE6), and is just about as friendly a version as I've seen. Wooha. (10/05)

What 5 Marines can do better than 50 Senators. Well, everything? (10/05)

Greenpeace: Green My Apple. (10/01)

iPhones have been bricked. I'm not quite sure I'm following the logic by Apple. I can understand the decision based on the fact that iPhones can now be unlocked for use with other carriers (Tmobile that is), but it seems they've screwed decent customers out of being able to use non-evil third party apps. (10/01)

Remember to re-register on the Do Not Call List. Or else. (10/01)

Lessons learned from Monopoly. "Everyone starts off with $1,500 and their butts on GO." Ain't that the truth. (10/01)
