I fixed the comments. Yet another slight hiccup in the process of upgrading MT3 to 4. Unfortunately this whole process has been slightly more painful than expected. But I place only blame on myself for not fixing it sooner. Apologies! ›

I know some people that swear by Olive Garden's superb food. I'm not one of them. They're okay, not great. But at least we can now all agree, their food is fattening as hell. ›

Inspirability
by PASH, Matt Pashkow
Given to me most graciously by my friend Heather, my nose has been buried in this book for a couple weeks now. Take 40 well-known designers, sit them down, and interview them about inspiration. Sounds simple. The answers are fantastic. I love learning how other designers find their inspiration. Great book for quick glances or long reads.

Paint anything the Golden Gate Bridge color. Silly? Yeah. Useful? Oh yeah. [noisy descent] (08/31)
Karnak, 1858. (08/30)
Weird old ads. Just that. The kid eating spaghetti and holding a hot dog makes me nervous. (08/29)

Scan it and shred it. Fucking brilliant. (08/29)

Spies, mountains, and radioactive rivers. Oh my. (08/29)
An old subway rolls down NYC. They don't build 'em like this anymore. Makes you wonder how pleasant a subway experience would be riding on something like this. (08/28)
Billion Tree Campaign. That's right, with a "B". (08/28)
Making the Most of Our Time. Because we all reset at 24 hours each morning. It's how we utilize it that sets us apart. (08/28)
How to sell a book, via Chip. (08/28)

GM's electric car, 2010. Why not now?! (08/13)
gBox. Google's own iTunes. Now this is a strange one. I suppose it makes sense to tap that market, but I don't see how Google can improve upon iTunes' sharp design. And isn't that what Google does for a living? Make information easier and simpler to find? I guess I'm of the bandwagon: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." And I'm not seeing any broken parts on iTunes. (08/13)
Myths about fitness. For those of you who are avid fitness freaks, or just starting out, this is a great list. Never trust everything you hear in a gym. (08/13)
A rather depressing graph of the global winners and losers in the subprime market. Ouch. (08/13)
Asleep in the Park. Brilliant! (08/13)
Biofuel and beer. All buzz-joking aside, pretty interesting how a newly-found dependency on biofuel could effect other businesses. (08/13)
It came to my attention I was chosen to further the path of a random-stuff blog entry. Since Joshua kindly elected me as part of the Eight, how can I say no?
The New Chrysler. I swear to God, first AT&T goes 3D, now Chrysler goes metallic. Modern identity design has officially taken a big steaming dump. And let's not forget the remastered UPS logo. These are going to look so dated in a decade. (08/10)
Google says black won't help. Man, I bought into it hook-line-and-sinker. Then again, it's still a great idea and execution. I guess it's back to keeping faith in the big G to do everything in their power to conserve energy. Now Microsoft, on the other hand... (08/10)
Subtalk. "Holy Fucking Shit It's a Goddamn Fucking Bomb". Yeah, sounds about right. (08/10)
Lion reacts to meeting former "Dad". That's about the most touching thing I've seen all month. Fine line between lovin' and maulin'. (08/10)
HTML 5, aka Web 2.5. (08/09)
National Museum of Industrial History. The creative director I work under did this site roughly seven years ago. Aside from my views on all-Flash sites, this holds up quite nicely. The moving gears are a fun addition.

(08/07)Capital One jacks up interest rates. I’m sick of their commercials anyway. “What’s in your wallet?” I can honestly say — not your credit card.
(08/07)Johanna Reed photography. Wonderful work, and Everomp reader. Yay!
(08/07)Spit or Swallow. Not much else to say.

(08/02)The 19-year-old inventor, William Kamkwamba, speaks at TED. What an inspiration. You can donate to his education fund. Kid certainly deserves it.
(08/02)Africa: The Next Chapter. “Leave us the fuck alone already.” Well, no, but I heard something similar the other day and got a vision of happy-go-lucky American yuppies flying over there to solve every one of their problems. African people are remarkable, and have the opportunity to heal their country. Our help is appreciated, but their country’s next step is theirs alone.
(08/02)42.8% efficiency. Watch what happens when it hits 75%. Things are going to get very interesting in energy-land.
